Who We Are?
Our Mission
Our organisation is dedicated to offering individualised services and assistance to individuals of all ages who experience mental disabilities. We prioritize providing person-centered care and support to ensure their well-being and development.
About Us
EKADANTHA Charitable Trust is an independent nonprofit organisation that is not affiliated with any religious or governmental entities. Our primary focus is on serving mentally disabled children and working towards their welfare and well-being.
EKADANTHA Charitable Trust operates and manages the Rainbow Residential School, which serves as a home for both young and elderly individuals from the mentally challenged sections of society. Our aim is to provide a nurturing environment where they receive not only accommodation but also access to education, food, vocational training, and other essential services. Through these provisions, we strive to empower them to lead as normal a life as possible.
About Mental Retardation
Mental retardation is a condition characterised by below-average intelligence, which restricts individuals’ ability to function normally and hinders their capacity to lead a typical life. This condition is typically present from birth or develops during childhood, and it can have various underlying causes. People with mental retardation often face challenges in areas such as communication, self-care, daily living tasks, social skills, community engagement, decision-making, health and safety, educational pursuits, leisure activities, and employment opportunities.
